What Is The Link Between Covid-19 & PCOS?

Observations say that females who have pcos (Polycystic ovary syndrome) are more prone to severe COVID-19 symptoms.

Female who suffer from PCOS experience symptoms like unwanted hair in the areas where usually hair does not grow, excess weight, problem to conceive a baby, pain and cramps during periods and many other symptoms. 

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most frequent endocrine disorder amongst women during their reproductive age. 

Also, there are other factors are causes pcos patients more prone to a covid-19 virus-like lower level of vitamin D, hyper-inflammation, hyperandrogenism, and ethnicity predisposition. These conditions are also linked to higher cardio-metabolic conditions like hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and obesity and these conditions further increase the risk of covid-19. 

It is important to understand the higher risk factors of covid-19 amongst pcos females to take necessary precautions before things go out of hand. 

If you understand the risk factors stuck to pcos, it is easier to protect and prevent females from the severe symptoms of the covid-19 virus. 

Why is it Important to Understand the Risk Factors Linked to PCOS and COVID-19?

And when this happens, it will give more time to the healthcare system to prepare well for such complex patients.

It will be difficult to face both pcod and covid-19 symptoms together and therefore taking precautions and getting vaccinated as soon as possible is important. 

Vitamin-D Levels can Higher the Risk of COVID-19?

People who suffer from a lower level of vitamin D seem to experience severe COVID-19 symptoms. And if we notice the numbers in the Northern hemisphere countries like the UK, Spain, Italy, and France the percentage of COVID-19 patients were increasing during winter when the sun exposure and the exposure to the purest form of vitamin D is lower. On the other side, COVID-19 cases in the southern hemisphere countries were low. 

A lower percentage of vitamin D can lead to respiratory problem like ARDS–Acute Distress Syndrome. Also, the mortality rate amongst COVID-19 patients is higher, especially who lack vitamin-d. 

However, we need more studies to understand the link between lower vitamin D level and Coronavirus. 

Today the entire world is facing social, personal trauma because of a virus and therefore, it is important for us to understand that we need to take all the necessary precautions to prevent severe conditions. 

Many people who have lost their loved ones know the pain of losing and if you are blessed enough to not face such a situation, then instead of being ignorant try to get vaccinated, take all the precautions like wearing a mask, using sanitizer, and follow social distancing. 

Also, people who are believing baseless myths related to the vaccination should educate themselves and listen to the relevant people and sources.
