The meaning of Kwath in Ayurveda is referred to as a decoction extract with multiple herbs or single herbs to treat cold and cough or ingestion. Kwath is also called Kadha in some of the parts of India.

Add half an inch of long mulethi and then boil mulethi in a cup of water, and boil it until the water is reduced to half. Remember to not throw the piece of mulethi, you will need it later.

Now strain the mulethi water and add two pinch of dalchini powder, wait until the decoction cools down to room temperature. Pour this Kwath into a small spoon and give to your children twice in a day.

2. Giloy and Amla:

Both Amla and Giloy are amazing to boost your immunity and when you consume something which helps to enhance your immunity anything thing that is bothering you will be cured.

Giloy and amla also help to treat bronchioles infection. To treat cold and cough, you can directly buy Alma and Giloy juices from the market and give to your children.

3. Ginger and Tulsi Decoction:

Firstly, pluck some Tulsi leaves and then crush them well in a mortar and pestle. Then, add two cup water in a pan and put the crushed Tulsi Leaves in the pan. Boil this until the water comes to its half quantity and then add two pinches of ginger powder to it.

Rest this mixture until it comes to the room temperature and then gives this mixture to your child for three to four times a day. Tulsi leaves are extremely beneficial to balance the Kapha Dosha.  

4. Ajwain and Garlic:

First of all you need to do the roasting of 2 to 3 garlic cloves along with one teaspoon of ajwain (carom seeds) without oil. Also, remember to hold the garlic cloves between your thumbs and press them gently to release the juices before you do the roasting.

After this, place it in a soft muslin cloth and then make a poultice. Before giving this potali to inhale, check the warmth of the potali place it on the backside of your hand and then give it to your baby and let your child inhale this potali. This Ayurvedic treatment for cold and cough is even better in winter because of the extra warmth it provides.

5. Garlic oil for massage:

Get four to five cloves of garlic and put in a half cup of sesame oil and then heat it in a pan until the garlic cloves are deep-fried. 

Before the oil cools down, you need to strain this oil and use this oil to massage the back of the child who is suffering from cold and cough, you can also massage the scalp and soles of the child.

Once, you are done with the massage dip two fingers in the oil and them on the nostrils of the child and tell your kid to inhale it. 

6. Peppermint:

Add water in a container and boil it, once the water is streaming hot add two to three drops of peppermint in it. 

Place this container safely and make your child inhale this steam, this will help to open up the nasal congestion and also relieve any type of stress between the brows.

7. Immunity:

The best way to fight any health problem, infection or diseases is to enhance your immunity power. There are some herbs and spices you can easily find in your kitchen and herbs you can buy from outside Ayurvedic stores.
