Kidney Stones Imagine Tests in Emergency Departments!

In case of emergency, there are some tests that a patient with kidney stones symptoms will go through some of the tests to check for kidney stones. 

And, that test is known as imaging test and there are two types of imaging test – 

A CT scan 

An ultrasound

Kidney Stones Are Formed Due to the Following Reason: 

Kidneys are made to filter out the waste material from our blood, and also make urine. But when kidney stones are formed? In this same process, when tiny sticky minerals crystals in your urine stick together, then this leads to the formation of kidney stones. 

Kidney stones symptoms include:

– Extreme or sharp pain in your back, lower belly, or side. 

– Pain in the groin.

– Feeling like to vomit or nausea. 

– Blood while urination. 

– Feeling of tiny particles passing through while urinating. 

– Feeling the urge to go but cannot.

These medicines are also injected or given to stop the feeling of nausea or vomiting. And, sometimes if you are dehydrated due to vomiting then the doctor will also give you some liquids with the help of an IV tube. 

Also, the emergency doctor will ask for all the medical records and history including your kidney stones symptoms. And, if the doctor finds out that you are suffering from kidney stone problem then you will go through several tests. 

Here are the various tests that you will for through:  

Blood test:  This test is done to check any sign of blood or kidney infection along with the health of your kidneys.

Imaging Test: This test includes an ultrasound or CT scan, also this test is done to check for kidney stones in the urinary tract like bladder, kidneys, and ureters.

Urine Test: This test is done to check any signs related to infection or to look for minerals and blood crystals in your urine.

Earlier CT scan was used for the first imaging test to check whether the person has kidney stones or not but due to its exposure to radiation, the medical experts started suggesting an ultrasound instead for the first imaging test. 

In most of the cases, if your kidney stones re small in size, it can easily pass through your urinary tract, out of your system naturally. But, in other cases in which your kidney stones are large then you need herbal medicines or other treatments. 

The reason you need external help is that large size kidney stones get stuck in a Ureter or a kidney. These type of stones get stuck and causes pain that can be really extreme and it can also cause damage to your kidneys. Therefore it is important to get proper treatment for kidney stones removal. 

What will happen if the doctor finds out that your kidney stones will pass naturally?

The doctor will advise you to go back to your place. 

The doctor will give you some medicines to prevent nausea or pain.
