You Should Eat Healthy Fats & Here’s Why!

When it comes to losing weight, most people, and especially females, think that leaving all the foods that contain fats or excess amounts of fats should be forgiven forever. But a weight loss journey or journey to be fit and healthy is not just a matter of a few months. 

If you decided to lose weight, this means you want to get rid of the excess fat and gain muscles and for a healthy and fit body you need to consume all the essential nutrients your body needs in order to stay healthy and fats are essential for or body is just you should have healthy fats. 

If you want to maintain a healthy weight after losing weight with strict diet plans that lack essential nutrients, you might lose weight quickly, but your body weakens. Also, if you try to follow baseless diet plans to lose weight (within a less period) you are likely to gain more weight once you quit such diets. Following such diets is not a sustainable way to maintain a healthy weight. 

So, try to go for seasonal, local, and home-cooked food that you are eating since you were a child. Try to make the same dishes healthier; do not overcook and try to use less optimum oil and spices. Eat more raw fruits and vegetables depending on the seasons. Do not buy things that are not available in your local area where you live.

Yes, this does not mean you will only eat fatty foods and many fats. No, you need to understand that your body needs fats and healthy fats like monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats that are found in nuts, avocados, canola oil and ghee.

You need to consume fats because your system needs a source of energy, and fats help to absorb some important minerals and vitamins. 

Good fats help to prevent blood clotting, muscle movement, reduce inflammation and build cell membranes.

Fats You Should Avoid:

If you are someone who eats a lot of junk and packet food that you are consuming fats that are not good for you like trans fats, saturated fats. If you want to be fit and healthy, do not consume fats that are worse for your system. Saturated fats and trans fats are prepared by the hydrogenation process, that helps to solidify healthy oils to preserve them.

Chips, baked goods, vegetable oil, margarine, and fried foods contain trans fats. And foods that contain saturated fats are cheese, whole milk, coconut oil and red meat. So, try to consume these food products in optimum quantity and do not eat in excess. 

The side-effects of having unhealthy fats can lead to chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, stroke, artery blockage and inflammation. 

So, when the next time someone tells you to not eat healthy fats, tell them to relax and give them some nuts. It is advisable that if you really want to follow some diet plan to lose weight, then you should definitely consult a nutritionist and follow that diet plan. A Diet plan does not mean you have to give up all the things you like. You just need to be practical and smart with your food choices to lose weight without lacking essential nutrients.
